Playing a stereo sound on the speakers #

The PC should be connected to a pair of channels on the mixing desk. If it isn’t please ask a technician to make sure this is set up for you.

Play a sound on the PC #

This could be as simple as opening a youtube video. Just make sure some sound should be coming out.

You might be done! #

This is the default configuration of G05, if sound isn’t playing you’ll need to check some things out.

Check the sound output on the PC #

Click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and open the dropdown to select the output device. You should see a device called ‘Speakers’, select this device.

Check for the sound input on the sound desk #

Go to the Sound Desk and look through the channels. If two channels have sound coming through then try turning those up.

If none of the above worked… #

Contact a technician. You can email Rob at r.hall@gold.ac.uk or you might find him or another technician in the Hatchlab.

DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF #

This will only make it take longer for the technician to fix it when they arrive.
