Quest 3 #
Setting up a Quest 3 on eduroam is currently quite a challenge, consider if you need eduroam, or if another connection would work better for you. AirLink will not work over eduroam, and you are welcome to borrow a router from the tech office if you need.
- Disable automatic Wi-Fi connection on your Quest 3 device by either removing all saved Wi-Fi networks or deactivating the ‘auto-connect’ feature.
- Find an open Wi-Fi network that requires sign-in. If you can’t find one, you can try using a phone to set up an open Wi-Fi network.
- Connect to the open Wi-Fi network on your Quest 3 device. Once connected, go to the Wi-Fi settings and disable the ‘auto-connect’ feature for this network. Then, disconnect from the network.
- After disconnecting, you’ll receive notifications from your Quest 3 device indicating that the connection has been lost and prompting you to sign in again. In the main menu, look for the ringbell icon labeled ‘Notifications’ next to ‘Quick Settings’ Open it and click on the notification that instructs you to sign in to the open network.
- Upon clicking the notification, your Quest 3 will reveal another Wi-Fi menu hidden by Meta. This menu resembles the old version of the Wi-Fi settings menu. Here, you should be able to choose the school Wi-Fi network and other settings like ‘Domain’. Follow the template for signing in on a Quest 2 provided above. If everything works as expected, you should be able to click on ‘connect’ to establish a connection.

Using AirLink #
AirLink can be used to share live content from your computer to the Quest.
Unfortunately, AirLink will not work over Eduroam, so if you intend to use it while on campus, you will need to borrow a router. If you need help setting this up, email us or visit us in Room 2 Hatcham House.
To set up AirLink, you will need to have the Oculus app installed on the computer you intend to send the content from. Follow these instructions to download this app.
Returning the Quest #
Before you return the Quest, please Factory Reset the device.
